Everything You Need to Know

Today, ConnectJA Inc. is trying to effect change in the way the children of Jamaica learn and become a valuable part of the information age. By donating computers, musical instruments, and sporting equipment we can help the schools in Jamaica better prepare our kids from a primary and secondary level of education. We have a program in place were we are sponsoring one child from 9 grade through 11 th grade with all the necessary teaching/learning aids required for him/her to be successful.

Other altruistic organizations such as Negril Education Environment Trust (NEET) has a similar program where they accept contributions from overseas donors then distribute them to only certain schools in Western Jamaica. Our program will start in one Parish (St. Catherine, Jamaica) however; by year 10 will have touched all the Primary and Secondary schools throughout the fourteen Parishes of the country.

For accountability and support, ConnectJA will not only ship computers, musical and sporting equipment to these schools but will monitor these donated items through their lifecycle. There will be a point of contact at every school that regularly interfaces with ConnectJA to provide us status reports. These reports will help us determine additional needs for each school that is being serviced.

We also intend to send mentors who are highly skilled in Information Technology, Music and Physical Education to do workshops during the summer times. This way, when a school receives items they are taught how to effectively utilize them. ConnectJA, Inc. intends to advance Jamaica one school at a time. The age of social media is upon us and we want to bring this Third World Country a little closer to their First World neighbors if only on how information is made readily available to them.
